Extras, discounts and VAT

The last two steps on the quote screen are for money that does not come from the catalogue. (Extras) adds other charges, and ปรับราคา (Adjustments) gives a discount and sets how VAT is charged.

Extras

For charges that are not in your shop's catalogue, such as delivery, a rush fee, design work or packaging. Most quotes do not need this step.

  1. Press เพิ่มรายการ (Add item) for a new row.
  2. Type the item's name, such as ค่าจัดส่ง (delivery).
  3. Type the amount in whole baht; satang cannot be entered.
  4. Choose how it is charged:
    • ต่อออเดอร์ (Per order): once for the whole order. This is the default.
(Per shirt): multiplied by the number of shirts on the quote. ฿20 a shirt on 30 shirts is ฿600.

Press the cross at the end of a row to remove it. A quote can have up to 20 extras.

An extra with no name is not charged and does not appear on the quote, even with an amount typed in. Once you give it a name, it is charged again at the amount in its box.

In the summary and on the quote, a per-order extra says (Charged once per order). A per-shirt one shows its multiplication, such as ฿20 × 30 ตัว · ไม่รวมในราคาต่อตัวข้างบน (฿20 × 30 shirts · not included in the per-shirt prices above): it is a separate sum, not added into each size's price.

Discount

The discount is in the ปรับราคา (Adjustments) step, as a pair of boxes:

(Discount type) sets how the discount is taken. Its list has two groups:
    • Per order: จำนวนเงิน (บาท) (Amount, baht) takes an amount off the whole order, and is the default; เปอร์เซ็นต์ (%) (Percentage) takes a percentage of the whole order.
    • Per shirt: จำนวนเงิน (บาท/ตัว) (Amount, baht per shirt) takes the same amount off every shirt, multiplied by the number of shirts.
(Discount value) takes the number, in the unit the type names.

Under the pair it says (Taken off the whole total, before tax). The discount comes off everything together — the shirts, the printing, the block fee and the extras — and tax is then worked out on what is left.

  • A percentage takes up to 2 decimal places, and no more than 100.
  • A discount can never be more than the total, so a quote's total never goes below
  • Changing the discount type empties the value box, so that the old number is not read in the new unit — 500 baht becoming 500%. Type the number again whenever you change the type.

In the step-by-step layout's list of steps, ปรับราคา shows the discount and VAT in use, such as ส่วนลด 10%, ภาษีมูลค่าเพิ่ม 7% (10% discount, VAT 7%).

VAT

(How VAT is charged), in the same step, has three choices. The examples on this page use a 7% rate; if your shop has set another, the choices show your shop's rate.

ChoiceWhat happens to the total
(No VAT)No tax is charged, and the quote shows none.
7% (VAT 7%)The prices do not include tax, so VAT is added on top of the whole total, and the total goes up.
(VAT 7% included)The prices already include tax, so the total stays the same, and the quote shows how much of it is tax.

With the list open, each choice has a short line under it saying what it does to the total.

A new quote starts on the choice the shop admin set on the ตั้งค่าร้าน (Shop settings) screen, under ภาษีมูลค่าเพิ่ม (VAT), which is also where the rate is set. A shop that has not set one starts on no VAT. Staff can change it on any quote.

The discount and VAT in this step apply to this quote only; they do not change the shop's defaults. (New quote) clears the discount and puts VAT back to the shop's default.
