Print sizes

A print size is how large a print is, such as A4. Print sizes are ranked from smallest to largest, and the rank matters to price, not only to display. On the quote screen, print sizes are the ขนาดงาน (Print size) choices of each print location in the เทคนิค (Technique) step, each giving the size's name, its description and its price per shirt. The printed quote gives each location's print size beside its technique, such as (Silkscreen 1 colour · A4 (21×29 cm)).

A print size on sale is a choice at a print location only when both of these hold: the location takes it, ticked on Print locations, and the chosen technique prices it, on Techniques.

The table

The table's columns are ชื่อขนาด (Size name), คำอธิบาย (Description), ใช้อยู่ (In use), สถานะ (Status) and จัดการ (Actions). You edit a size's name and description in the table itself; see Changing a name or description, below.

(In use) counts the print locations that take the size and the techniques that price it, such as 3 จุด · 2 เทคนิค (3 locations · 2 techniques). It counts those on sale and those retired, but not those in the trash.

  • Press the count to see the names of those locations and techniques. A retired one is labelled ปิดอยู่ (Retired).
  • Press a name to open that location's or technique's edit panel.
  • A size nothing uses yet shows 0 จุด · 0 เทคนิค (0 locations · 0 techniques), which cannot be pressed.

Check ใช้อยู่ (In use) before you rename or retire a size, because every location and technique it lists changes with it.

Adding a print size

(Add a new print size) window opens in the middle of the screen.
  2. Enter the ชื่อขนาด (Size name), such as A4. It is the name on the choice on the quote screen, and it is printed on the quote.
  3. Enter a คำอธิบาย (Description) if you want one, such as 21×29 ซม. (21×29 cm). It appears under the size's name on the quote screen, and the printed quote has it in brackets after the name: A4 (21×29 ซม.). The customer sees it, so make it the print's real dimensions.
(Add new) in the window.

Nothing warns you if the name is the same as a print size you already have, so check the table first.

A new size always goes at the bottom of the table, which on this screen means the largest. If it is not the largest, drag it to its right place; see From smallest to largest, below.

A new size does not appear on the quote screen until both of these are done:

  • Tick it under ขนาดงานที่สกรีนได้ (Print sizes this location takes) on each location that can print it, on Print locations.
  • Enter its price on each technique that does this size, on Techniques.

Until a technique prices it, ภาพรวม (Overview) lists it in its (Not ready for quotes yet) box.

Changing a name or description

  1. Change the ชื่อขนาด (Size name) or คำอธิบาย (Description) in the size's row.
  2. Press บันทึก (Save) in the same row.

Each row saves on its own, so if you change several, press บันทึก (Save) on every row you changed. A change not saved is lost when you leave the screen, and nothing asks first.

The new name and description appear at every location and on every technique that uses the size, in quote screens opened after you save.

From smallest to largest

The order of the table is the sizes' real order: the top row is the smallest and the bottom row the largest. The quote screen lists the ขนาดงาน (Print size) choices in this order, and uses it to choose a size by itself at two moments:

  • When a print location is chosen, it sets the first technique that can print the location, then the first size in this order that the technique does there: the smallest.
  • When the technique is changed to one that cannot do the size already chosen, it moves to the last size in this order that the new technique does: the largest.

If the order is wrong, so is the size chosen, and so is the price, and nothing warns you.

To move a size, drag its row up or down; how to drag, and how to use the keyboard instead, is in Add, edit, retire and delete. Unlike the other screens, this one asks (Change the order of print sizes?) before it saves. Press ยืนยัน (Confirm) to save the new order, or ยกเลิก (Cancel) to put the rows back as they were.

Retiring or deleting

Retiring or deleting a print size takes it off the quote screen, out of every location's (Print sizes this location takes) list, and out of every technique's price table, all at once. A location that takes only this size, and a technique that prices only this size, leave the quote screen too. How to do both is in Add, edit, retire and delete.

When a save is refused

As you retire or delete a print size, one of these messages may appear at the bottom of the screen. Each means that without this size, the quote screen would have nothing left to choose at one of its steps.

(Cannot save: there would be no print sizes left to choose) — this is the last print size on sale. Add another, or put one back on sale, first.
(Cannot save: there would be no print locations left to choose) — every location still usable depends on this size. First tick another size for those locations on Print locations, and check that a technique prices it.
(Cannot save: there would be no techniques left to choose) — the techniques still usable price only this size. First give those techniques a price for another size on Techniques.

Press the size's ใช้อยู่ (In use) count to see which locations and techniques to change. The messages every screen shares are in Add, edit, retire and delete.

The next screen in the งานสกรีน (Printing) group is Print locations.
